BillOak is a free, browser-based invoice generator that allows users to create, customize, and download professional PDF invoices. The Service operates entirely within your web browser β€” no account registration is required for the free version.

Key features include:

  • Creating invoices, credit notes, quotes, and purchase orders
  • Supporting 150+ currencies and 15 languages
  • Multiple PDF layout templates with customization options
  • Local browser storage for invoice history
  • Exporting and importing invoice data as JSON files

3. User Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for:

  • The accuracy, completeness, and legality of all invoices you create using the Service
  • Ensuring your invoices comply with applicable local, state, national, and international tax laws and regulations
  • Verifying all calculations, tax rates, and amounts before sending invoices to your clients
  • Maintaining backups of your invoice data, as browser-stored data can be cleared

BillOak does not verify business registrations, tax identification numbers, or regulatory compliance in any jurisdiction.

4. Data Storage & Privacy

All invoice data created using the free version of BillOak is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your invoice data on our servers. You maintain full control and ownership of your data at all times.

5. Intellectual Property

The BillOak name, logo, website design, and source code are the intellectual property of the BillOak team. Invoices and documents you create using the Service are entirely your property.

You may use the Service to create invoices for personal or commercial purposes without restriction.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Accuracy of calculations or currency conversions
  • Compliance with local tax or invoicing regulations
  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service
  • Fitness for a particular business purpose

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BillOak and its team shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to:

  • Financial losses resulting from incorrect invoices or calculations
  • Loss of data due to browser storage being cleared
  • Tax penalties or compliance issues arising from invoice errors
  • Any damages resulting from unauthorized access to your browser data

8. Third-Party Services

The Service may use third-party services including Google Fonts for typography and Google Analytics for anonymous usage statistics. Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose, including but not limited to creating fraudulent invoices, money laundering, or any activity that violates applicable laws.

10. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the website. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
