Invoicing for cleaning services
Whether you clean homes, offices or holiday rentals, a clear invoice shows the client exactly which visits and services they are paying for. You can bill per visit, per hour, per room or as a flat monthly rate, and add extras such as oven cleaning or supplies on separate lines.
For regular clients, one invoice per week or month that lists each visit by date is easier for both of you than a separate invoice after every clean.
What to put on a cleaning invoice
- Your business name, logo and phone number
- The client’s name and the address that was cleaned
- An invoice number, the invoice date and the payment due date
- Each visit or service with its date, hours or flat price
- Add-ons such as deep cleaning, windows, carpets or laundry
- Supplies or equipment you charge for
- Tax if you are registered, the total and payment details
Example line items
- Weekly house clean (3 h) – 4 visits
- End-of-tenancy deep clean – flat rate
- Oven and fridge cleaning – add-on
- Office cleaning, Mon–Fri evenings – monthly
- Cleaning supplies – at cost
Getting paid faster
State your payment terms clearly, for example "Due within 7 days", and put your bank details or payment link in the notes. If you charge for cancellations made at short notice or for keys and access, put that policy in the terms so there are no surprises.
Frequently asked questions
Can I bill several cleaning visits on one invoice?
Yes. Add one line per visit with its date, or one line with the number of visits as the quantity.
How do I charge for supplies?
Add them as a separate line item. If they are included in your price, mention that in the notes instead.
Can I add my logo?
Yes. Upload your logo in the editor; it appears on the PDF in all three layouts.
Do I need an account?
No. BillOak works without signup and keeps your invoices in your browser.
