Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 24, 2026
1. Introduction
BillOak ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our invoice generator at billoak.com.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
BillOak is designed with privacy at its core. The invoice generator itself operates entirely within your browser. We do not collect, store, or transmit:
- Your invoice data (sender details, receiver details, line items, amounts)
- Your company or personal information
- Your client or customer data
- Uploaded logos or images
- Payment or financial information
All invoice data stays in your browser's local storage and never leaves your device. This does not apply to the Contact form, described below.
3. Information We May Collect
We may collect limited, anonymized data for the purpose of improving the Service:
- Analytics data: We use Google Analytics to collect anonymized usage statistics such as page views, session duration, device type, and geographic region. No personal or invoice data is included.
- Technical data: Browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and language preferences β collected automatically by analytics tools.
- Contact form data: If you use the Contact page to send us a message, we collect the name, email address, subject, and message you submit. This is sent to our support inbox and used only to respond to your inquiry β see Section 6 for the third parties involved in delivering that message.
4. Local Storage
BillOak uses your browser's local storage to save:
- Your invoice history and saved invoices
- Your language and currency preferences
- Your chosen accent color, font, and PDF layout settings
- Tour completion status
This data is stored only on your device. You can clear it at any time by:
- Using the "Clear All" button on the Invoice History page
- Clearing your browser's local storage via browser settings
- Using your browser's private/incognito mode (data is not persisted)
5. Cookies
BillOak does not use cookies for tracking or advertising. We may use essential cookies required for basic website functionality. For more details, see our Cookie Policy.
6. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google Analytics: For anonymous usage statistics. Google's privacy policy applies. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
- Google Fonts: For loading web fonts (Inter, Plus Jakarta Sans, JetBrains Mono). Font files are loaded from Google's servers. No personal data is shared.
- Vercel: Our hosting provider. Vercel's privacy policy applies to infrastructure-level data processing.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: Used on the Contact page to verify you're not a bot before your message is sent. Cloudflare may process your IP address and browser signals for this purpose. Cloudflare's privacy policy applies.
- Resend: Used to deliver messages submitted via the Contact form to our support inbox. The name, email address, and message you submit are processed by Resend solely to deliver that email. Resend's privacy policy applies.
7. Data Security
Since your invoice data never leaves your browser, it is protected by your device's security measures. We recommend:
- Keeping your browser and operating system up to date
- Using a secure, private device for creating sensitive invoices
- Regularly exporting your invoice data as a backup (JSON export feature)
8. Children's Privacy
BillOak is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
9. International Users
BillOak is accessible globally. Since no invoice data is collected or transmitted, there are no cross-border data transfer concerns for the invoice generator itself. If you use the Contact form, your message is processed by Resend and Cloudflare, which may involve data transfer outside your country β see Section 6 for details.
10. Your Rights
Since we do not collect or store your invoice data, traditional data subject rights (access, deletion, portability) do not apply to it β it is already under your full control in your browser. If you have submitted a message via the Contact form, you may request access to or deletion of that message by contacting us.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
12. Contact Us
