Invoicing handyman jobs

Handyman work is often a list of small jobs on one visit: hang shelves, fix a door, patch a wall. Put each task on its own line with either a fixed price or the time it took, and add materials separately. The customer can see exactly what was done.

Many handymen charge a minimum call-out or a half-day rate. If you do, add it as the first line and describe what it covers.

What to include

• Your name or business name, phone and email
• The customer’s name and address
• An invoice number and the date of the work
• Each task with its price or hours
• Materials and hardware you bought for the job
• Any minimum charge or travel fee
• The total and how to pay

Example line items

• Assemble and wall-mount TV unit
• Repair and rehang interior door (1 h)
• Patch and paint wall damage
• Fit two shelves – brackets and fixings
• Minimum call-out charge

Get paid on the spot

Create the invoice on your phone at the end of the visit and show the customer the preview. If they pay there and then, switch the document type to Receipt and download a receipt marked PAID instead.
